ScoreGuitar Rating:

Main Features:

  • Weight: 6 Ibs
  • Scale Length: 23 inch
  • Indian Rosewood Fretboard
  • solid Sitka spruce top
  • Nice Mahogany Body
  • Rust Stratabond Neck Profile
  • Chrome small-knob tuners
  • Includes padded gig bag

Why I love this guitar:

I add this Martin’s LX1 acoustic guitar also know little Martin on this list purposefully for those of you with relatively small hands. If you like smaller guitars as compare to large-body guitars, this is the perfect piece you could find.

As soon as you pick up this guitar in your hand, you realize how small it is! It only weighs around 2.7 kg (Including gig bag) and has 23 inches of the scale length with 20 frets. And that’s why this is one of the top choices for travel acoustic guitars.

This guitar stays in tune for a long time and gives you clearly audible quality sound. It has real warmth and a balanced tone with it, again thanks to Martin.

If I talk about its build quality, it is made from a solid Sitka Spruce top with high-pressure Mahogany laminated on it. Martin gives you a hand-rubbed finish on this model, this definitely gives that authentic and classic look to this budget guitar.

Although, this is also a downside of this guitar. As it has a smaller body, it’s not able to project the sound that well, at least as compared to the other guitars from this list.

but, Martin doesn’t manufacture this guitar for a performance. If you’re a beginner player, or looking for the first or even the second guitar, you not going to notice any major difference in the tone.

Sound Demo:

Overall, this is an ideal guitar for you if you’re a beginner who wants a quality guitar for practice or if you’re a casual player and play guitar to enjoy the music. This is very easy to play guitar, gives amazing comfort with an excellent sounding tone.

Pros

  • Stay in Tune for a Long Time
  • Very Easy to Play (Playability)
  • Light-Weight & Portable
  • Amazing Looks

Cons

  • Can’t Reach High Volume

2. Ibanez AW54OPN Artwood Acoustic Guitar

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B00HWIRQ6O&Format= SL250 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=scoreguitar04 20&language=en US
.

ScoreGuitar Rating:

Main Features:

  • Hardtail Bridge system
  • Solid mahogany top, sides & back
  • Classic Dreadnought style body
  • Glossy Mahogany neck Profile
  • Rosewood bridge and fretboard

Why I choose this guitar:

AW54OPN is a great guitar from the Artwood series of Ibanez which has combined old craftsmanship with modern manufacturing.

Ibanez uses an open pore finish with this model, which basically allows the guitar to resonate more freely, that’s why this guitar emits an excellent acoustic tone.

On top of that, Ibanez uses real bone for nut and saddle which makes the sound even crispier.

You’ll get D’Addario EXP11 Coated 80/20 Bronze strings with this guitar, but strings are a more personal choice kind of thing and you can put on your favorite set of strings.

The only downside I notice here is, Lack of depth in the midrange response but that’s quite normal when you go for budget-friendly guitars. (like this one)

Sound Demo:

Overall, you’re getting a nice warm, full, and balanced sound of mahogany and too at such an affordable price.

Pros

  • Offers Great Playability
  • Warm, Full, & Balanced Sounding Tone
  • Top Quality Tonewood
  • Amazing Quality Control

Cons

  • Lack of Depth in Midrange

This acoustic guitar definitely worth your one shot, check out the latest price of the model on Amazon.

  • Piezoelectric Guitar Pickup Configuration
  • Solid cedar top with mahogany back & sides

  • Weight: 7 Ibs
  • Slim satin-finish mahogany neck
  • Elegant Natural satin finish

Why I choose this guitar:

Takamine guitars are popular for their first-class sound, style, features, and value for money and GD20-NS is another great model of acoustic guitar.

This guitar comes with a cedar wood top and mahogany back and neck with an elegant natural satin finishing. This guitar definitely going to give you a great feel and enhance your overall comfort in playability.

Usually, cedarwood is used in classical guitars and that’s why you’re getting a nice warm-sounding tone from this model. Generally, the Takamine brand is known for its bright-sounding guitars but this guitar kind of balances it out.

However, I didn’t like the standard set of strings that come with this model. You can try them, If you feel different, just changed them to your regular strings.

This guitar is not going to disappoint you whether you play fingerpicking or hard strumming. But Personally, I love the sound and ease of fingerpicking on this model due to the nice spacing on the fretboard.

4. Yamaha FGX800C Folk Acoustic-Electric Guitar

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B01E4QSJCQ&Format= SL250 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=scoreguitar04 20&language=en US
.

ScoreGuitar Rating:

Main Features:

  • Solid Spruce Top
  • Piezo Guitar Pickup Configuration
  • Fixed Guitar Bridge System
  • single cutaway Basswood body
  • Rosewood Fretboard with Nato Wood neck

Why I choose this guitar:

Yamaha FGX800C is the ideal model (according to me) you should buy for under $400. Yamaha guitars are known for their quality controls and this model is no exception to this.

This guitar comes with a solid spruce top and Nato on the back, side, and on the neck, with a rosewood fretboard.

This is an Acoustic-electric guitar with Yamaha’s 66 piezo pickups (Under saddle pickup). Talking about electronics, you’ll get to see one volume knob and three standard knobs in terms of base, mid-range, and the higher rate frequencies.

These electronics are just awesome but if you don’t want to put yourself into amps and all stuff, you can of course just forget about the electronics and play it as a normal acoustic guitar.

The one more thing that I like about this guitar is its neck. If I talk about playability, whether you play notes or strum chords, this neck feels like fluids in your hands.

One downside I found with this guitar is its strings. This model comes with a Yamaha standard set of nice 12-gauge strings. They are non-coated strings and thus feels very different while sliding.

But, I feel, strings are a kind of personal choice and you can put any strings you like on this. Tuners are also pretty descents and hold the guitar in tune.

Sound Demo:

This is a mid-range guitar and definitely provides a great value for your money. whether you’re going to perform live, or you’re going to record in your room, this guitar is not going to disappoint you.

Pros

  • Traditional looks with Cutaway Body
  • Outstanding Quality Controls
  • Solid Spruce Top
  • Great Sound Quality
  • All Necessary Accessories Included!

Cons

  • Nothing Major Issue!

If you’re interested in this guitar, you must check out this great deal where you’re getting lots of other accessories like a strap, extra set of strings, tuner, and picks with the guitar on Amazon.

5. Fender CC-60SCE Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar

q? encoding=UTF8&ASIN=B07FYQD68V&Format= SL280 &ID=AsinImage&MarketPlace=US&ServiceVersion=20070822&WS=1&tag=scoreguitar04 20&language=en US
.

ScoreGuitar Rating:

Main Features:

  • Piezo Guitar Pickup Configuration
  • Easy-to-play Mahogany neck
  • Mahogany Fretboard with Hardtail Bridge system
  • Single-cutaway concert body
  • Fishman low-profile pickup
  • Solid spruce top with Mahogany back & sides

Why I choose this guitar:

CC-60SCE concert acoustic guitar is a great model from Fender which is a well-known and a quite popular brand in the music industry.

This model comes with a solid spruce top with nice finishing on it. Except for the top of the guitar, everything from the body, back, neck, and even fretboard of the guitar are made from Mahogany wood.

This is a small concert body guitar which is slightly smaller as compared to the dreadnought guitars, thus best suited for those with smaller hands. Also, this guitar features a slightly rounded fingerboard which enhances the overall playability of the guitar.

If I talk about sound quality, it gives you a nice kind of bright sounding resonating tone, exactly what we can expect from fender under this price range.

This Acoustic-electric guitar comes with a fender’s active Fishman pickups which have one volume knob, treble & bass control, and a tuner. The preamp is also nice and gives you a decent volume.

Although, I find the string action of this model is a little low and thus a bit of fret buzz in the beginning. I know this choice changes person to person and If you want, you can adjust the action the way you need easily.

Sound Demo:

Whether you play fingerstyle or strumming, this guitar is not going to disappoint you in any way, and that too without opening your pocket much.

Pros

  • Looks Awesome in Person
  • Loud and Excellent Sound Quality
  • Fender’s Piezo Pickup
  • Light-weight & Easy to Play
  • Providing Great Value!

Cons

  • May feel a bit of fret Buzzing!
